It is a popular misconception that Internet in particular and computers in general are free of legal constraints. This is not the case and it is the primary function of this index to give access to the most relevant current law, regulations and rules governing the use of computers within both the University and the School of Informatics. The secondary function is to give access to College and School documents relating to how we operate within this framework of regulation.

Links to all documents are provided in the table at the foot of this page

All users need to be aware of the School Acceptable Use Policy. The College portion of it has been revised and and was passed by Senate on the 1st December 2003.

New users should read the new users and monitoring documents.

All users should read the documents relating to departing users as this details what will happen to their accounts and any email received after their departure.
