Additional rules which apply to computer systems installed
in public areas within the School of Informatics
- Use of equipment is restricted to Staff and Students of this School.
- Software must not be moved from machine to machine.
- Software (especially the operating system) must not be reconfigured.
- User's data should be stored on either floppy disks or the user's home
directory, it must not be stored locally on workstations or PC's.
- Personal software may be temporarily installed (subject to no
infringement of its license conditions) but must be de-installed immediately
after use.
- The installation (even temporarily) and playing of games software
is forbidden.
- Any material obtained from the network and used in assessed work must
be properly acknowledged. Failure to do so could result in a charge of
plagiarism which in serious cases may result in your degree being withheld.
