The School of Mathematics at Bangor merged with the School of Electronic Engineering in 1999 to form the School of Informatics with three Divisions: Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics.
In August 2006, as part of a general reorganisation of the University, the School of Informatics split into the Schools of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, with the remains of Mathematics absorbed into Computer Science.
These two schools, together with the School of Chemistry, form the College of Physical & Applied Sciences.
