For a more scenic route, soon after joining the M6 take the M54 spur to Telford and Shrewsbury, and then continue up the A5 all the way to Bangor (or, after Oswestry, go up past Wrexham to join the A55).
For an almost motorway free route from the south west, cross one of the Severn Bridges and take the Wye valley past Tintern and then Hereford to Shrewsbury. Then continue as above.
When approaching Bangor on the bypass from the east (A55) or on the A5 from the south, take the A5 (A5122 on some maps?) into Bangor and keep on the main road through the city (see the map of Bangor.) After turning right at traffic lights by the railway station, you soon come to a roundabout on the hill, where you turn sharply left.
This is now Ffriddoedd road and, after passing over a small hill, the halls of residence are on the right.
